If you feel like your Real Estate taxes are too high and assessed too high, you can petition to lower your taxes. There is a small window in every year that you can fill an appeal to take your case to the Board of Review. This year’s Window is from the 1st of July- 10th of September. The Board of Review has three members on it that will go through all of the cases after the 10th of September and determine if your taxes are too high. This is not a for sure thing that your taxes will be lowered but it could help. Some people either buy a house for less than the assessed value or are paying a substantial amount more for your taxes than their neighbors are. If this pertains to you, file an appeal! Call us today and we can help you appeal or help give you the market value to your house.
